We met in April, 1988, at Space Camp in Huntsville, Alabama. Yes, really, we met at Space Camp, aka Teenage Geek Heaven. That's a 16-year-old Tyler, in the left picture, second from left. Heather (age 16, too!) is in the right picture, second from right. We were in the same group (Morton Thiokol) and sat next to one another during our two missions (Mission Specialists 2 and 3 in the shuttle simulator - Payload Scientist and Weather & Tracking Officer in Mission Control). Heather was dating someone else at the time, but through the next summer, at the urging of Claire (right photo, next to Heather on the left), Heather and Tyler wrote each other throughout the rest of 1988. In February, 1989, we called each other on our birthdays, then Heather's parents drove her to Georgia (from their home in West Virginia) during Spring Break for a visit. Check out a picture from that visit:

Yep, that's us, at the Georgia state capitol in Atlanta, during Spring Break, 1989, at the tender ages of 17. Scary! Check out those glasses and the fact that Tyler is in a pink shirt! Anyhoo, we decided to continue dating long-distance. Ah, young love...

Oh yeah, that's our junior prom, May, 1989. Check out that hair! Heather's is big and Tyler actually has some! Tyler traveled to West Virginia for fun prom happenings and got his mug shot in Heather's high school yearbook. Well, after this, we knew it was "twue wove"...

Through our senior year, we continued to date, driving or flying back and forth between Georgia and West Virginia when possible. Turns out our senior proms were on the same night. Tyler, being the ever-galant guy returned north for another night of formal attire and really bad dancing. This, of course, all led to...

...college! Heather's college requirements were small and out-of-state while Tyler wanted to stay small in his home-state of Georgia. North Georgia College was a perfect fit for both of us and, hey, we each already knew one person there! Finally, in 1994, we graduated with our Bachelor degrees.

Ah, yes, the official engagement picture, circa December, 1994. This was our second time down Engagement Avenue, the first trip being cut short due to Heather's stupidity (but we won't go there). Suffice it to say, this great 2nd engagement moment took place in the parking lot of a Rio Bravo with Tyler turning to Heather, in the car, stating, "Well, let's try this again." The wedding was on for five months later in...

...the beautiful month of May, 1995. We were married with family and friends all around. Awwww, how sweet.

Well, between 1995 and 2005, nothing much happened. During this 10-year span, we moved twice and eventually held six jobs with five different companies. We gained weight, lost weight, gained and lost friends and family members, became humans to four cats (now down to two), traveled, and that's about it. After struggling with infertility, our next two gigantic milestones occured, the first in September, 2005...

...with the births of our beautiful twins, Amelia and Heath. For 20 months, we were a family of four until...

...little Jarrod arrived in May, 2007. Wow! Five Dobsons! We had no idea life could be this wonderful!

And this is us today! We hope you've enjoyed our story! Check out the rest of our site and get to know us, our family, and our friends.
